Title: Software Engineer II

Location: Redmond, WA (Onsite)

Duration: 4 month contract (extensions possible)

Compensation: $57/hr - $77/hr

Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the U.S.

 

SUMMARY We are seeking a Software Engineer II with 3-4 years of experience to support a growing team focused on engineering operations, lab infrastructure, and AI-driven development workflows. This role sits at the intersection of software engineering, systems support, and emerging AI tooling, with direct impact on documentation, processes, and customer engagement.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support engineering operations including tool evaluation, integration, and hands-on lab/infrastructure support
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code or similar) to enhance engineering workflows and drive adoption across the team
• Act as a point of contact for assigned projects, coordinating resources and driving execution from start to finish
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships by effectively communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Contribute to documentation, process improvement, and workflow optimization
• Provide basic troubleshooting across systems, networking, and infrastructure environments

 

 

REQUIREMENTS  

Must-Have Qualifications:

• 3-4 years of experience in software engineering or related technical field
• Strong programming skills in Python (additional languages such as C++, Java, Ruby are a plus)
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML tools, LLMs, and AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code or similar)
• Experience working with Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, Fedora) and Windows environments
• Basic networking and troubleshooting experience
• Strong communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Experience managing or contributing to projects end-to-end
• Self-starter with strong ownership mindset and adaptability in fast-paced environments

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator (Linux and/or Windows)
• 2+ years of networking experience
• Experience with ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch)
• Experience building integrations or working with Model Context Protocol (MCP) or similar tooling
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Familiarity with distributed computing tools (OpenCue, Slurm)
• Experience working with network switch CLI and commands

 

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and perform physical lab-related tasks (cabling, hardware setup)
• Ability to perform repetitive manual tasks and work in lab environments
• Ability to travel between support sites using personal transportation
• Typing speed of at least 50 WPM
