Job Summary Join NetApp’s innovative ONTAP Security Engineering development organization as a Systems Software Engineer in our team, where you are responsible for designing and delivering the core security capabilities that safeguard the ONTAP data management platform across cloud, hybrid‑cloud, and on‑premises environments. You will build foundational security features that protect customer data, strengthen platform resilience, and ensure compliance with industry and government standards.
As a seasoned software engineer, you will be part of a team of passionate, skilled security and distributed‑systems engineers to design, implement, test, and harden security‑critical components within ONTAP. You will contribute across the full development lifecycle—including design reviews, threat modeling, secure coding, debugging, automated testing, and long‑term maintainability. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex software challenges and optimize performance, all while contributing to the evolution of secure technologies in a rapidly advancing digital landscape.

Compensation:
The target salary range for this position is $131,000-$155,000. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off, various Leave options, Performance-Based Incentives, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU’s), with all offerings subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies. Benefits may vary by country and region, and further details will be provided as part of the recruitment process.
