Our Promo Team plays a critical role in shaping how audiences discover and emotionally connect with our stories. Promos drive the first impression of each series — and ultimately determine listener engagement at scale. We are looking for a Commercial Director to direct our 20-30-minute promotional content for our fantasy audio dramas.
Responsibilities
Own and oversee the creative vision for AI-generated promo videos, ensuring clarity, strong pacing, emotional engagement, and alignment with brand standards.
Lead the end-to-end development of AI-powered video promos — from script refinement and prompt strategy to final edit and performance optimization.
Translate writer concepts into clear, production-ready direction for AI creators, editors, and VO artists, ensuring prompts, visuals, and outputs align with narrative intent.
Act as the final creative gatekeeper across all AI-driven promo content, maintaining consistency, quality, and scalability.
Uphold creative excellence while driving business performance, ensuring promos are optimized to reduce cost per install (CPI) and improve acquisition efficiency.
Partner closely with the US-based writing team to strengthen hooks, character moments, and storytelling structure before AI production begins.
Direct and quality-control the India-based AI production team, ensuring outputs align with creative vision, brand tone, and performance goals.
Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, growth, and data teams to align promo concepts with campaign strategy and audience targeting.
Manage multiple concurrent AI promo pipelines, balancing experimentation with operational efficiency and timely delivery.
Identify and resolve creative or technical bottlenecks in AI workflows, providing clear, actionable feedback to improve output quality and speed.
Establish scalable AI production processes that enable high-volume testing without sacrificing storytelling integrity.
Leverage performance data (CTR, retention, CPI, conversion rates) to inform iterative creative decisions and continuously improve promo effectiveness.
Qualifications
Strong background in directing or overseeing promos, trailers, or performance-driven video content.
Experience managing human teams producing AI-generated video assets.
Sharp instincts for hook creation, pacing, and emotionally engaging storytelling.
Proven ability to balance creative excellence with measurable business impact (CPI, CTR, conversion).
Experience building scalable creative workflows in fast-paced, test-and-learn environments.
Comfortable collaborating across cross-functional and international teams.
Familiarity with performance metrics, A/B testing frameworks, and data-driven creative iteration.
Comfortable working on-site in our Culver City office alongside writers, leadership, and cross-functional partners.
