Position Overview The Assistant Security Manager supports the Security Manager in developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive security programs to protect personnel, property, and assets. This role ensures the safety and security of facilities, employees, visitors, and tenants through effective security operations, risk management, and emergency response protocols.
Key Responsibilities Security Operations Management Assists in overseeing daily security operations including access control, visitor management, patrol activities, and monitoring of surveillance systems. Supervises security officers and ensures compliance with established procedures and protocols. Conducts regular facility inspections to identify and address security vulnerabilities.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation Supports the development and implementation of security risk assessments and threat analyses. Identifies potential security risks and recommends preventive measures. Maintains awareness of security trends and emerging threats relevant to the facility and industry.
Emergency Response and Crisis Management Assists in developing and maintaining emergency response plans including evacuation procedures, lockdown protocols, and business continuity measures. Coordinates with local law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency services. Leads incident response activities in the absence of the Security Manager.
Investigations and Reporting Conducts investigations into security incidents, policy violations, and suspicious activities. Prepares detailed incident reports and maintains accurate documentation. Analyzes incident data to identify trends and recommend improvements to security protocols.
Access Control and Technology Management Manages access control systems, badge issuance, and credential administration. Ensures proper functioning of security technology including CCTV cameras, alarm systems, and intrusion detection equipment. Coordinates with IT and vendors for system maintenance and upgrades.
Training and Development Assists in training security personnel on procedures, equipment operation, customer service, and emergency response. Conducts security awareness programs for employees and tenants. Ensures security staff maintain required certifications and licenses.
Vendor and Stakeholder Management Coordinates with contracted security service providers to ensure service level agreements are met. Builds collaborative relationships with building management, tenants, law enforcement, and other stakeholders. Serves as point of contact for security-related inquiries and concerns.
Compliance and Policy Development Ensures security operations comply with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. Assists in developing and updating security policies, procedures, and post orders. Maintains documentation required for audits and regulatory compliance.
