About The Role We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead backend infrastructure powering mission-critical, ultra-low latency systems. This role will own high-performance distributed systems that process millions of events per second with strict SLA, determinism, and fault tolerance requirements.

You will lead a team building core components such as order management systems (OMS), risk engines (RMS), matching engines, market data pipelines, and real-time ledger systems.

This is not a generic backend role — this is systems engineering at scale.

What You'll Do

• Architect and evolve backend systems for ultra-low latency workloads
• Own performance benchmarking, load testing, and capacity planning
• Drive decisions on storage engines (e.g., RocksDB, in-memory stores, log-based systems)
• Ensure correctness under high concurrency
• Lead production incident reviews and postmortems
• Collaborate with Product, Risk, and Infra teams
• Define SLAs and SLOs for critical systems
• Establish observability practices for latency, throughput, and determinism

You’ll Excel in This Role If You Have Strong Background In:

• Distributed systems design
• Concurrency and multi-threading
• Memory management and performance tuning
• Network stack fundamentals
• Linux internals (epoll, kernel tuning, NUMA awareness)

Experience With:

• Java / C++ / Rust (low-level performance optimization)
• In-memory data stores
• Event streaming systems
• Lock-free or low-lock architectures
• High-throughput message queues
• Load testing at scale

Good To Have:

• Trading systems / exchange / fintech infra experience
• OMS, RMS, or matching engine exposure
• Deterministic system design
• Market data systems
• Kernel bypass (DPDK), if applicable

• Zero Sev-1 incidents from system design flaws
• Build a strong backend team (hire N senior engineers)
