Role Summary Help shape how athenahealth teams build software in an AI-first environment. The Product Manager will identify, prioritize, and deliver tools or solutions that improve developer experience, productivity and software quality covering AI coding assistants, AI agents, MCPs, AI skills, and related DevTools. This role is based in Chennai, India in a hybrid work model and partners closely with engineering, internal platform teams, and R&D stakeholders to drive measurable outcomes. This role reports to the Product Management Director.
Team Summary The DevTools team within athenahealth’s Internal Developer Platform organization is responsible for identifying, implementing, and driving adoption of tools that improve engineering productivity, software quality, and developer experience across R&D. The team evaluates and scales solutions such as AI coding assistants, AI agents, AI skills, MCPs, and other supporting tools that enable teams to work more effectively. By combining product thinking, technical understanding, experimentation, and outcome measurement, the team helps ensure tool investments translate into meaningful improvements in speed, quality, and engineering effectiveness. The team works closely with product, engineering, and R&D partners to understand needs, guide adoption, and continuously optimize outcomes.
