Our Creative Development team is responsible for adapting stories into audio series and assembling the ideal writing team for each project. For one of our upcoming Romantasy and Dark Romance titles, we are looking for a Staff Writer to join the writers’ room. In this role, you will report to the Head Writer and work closely with the Creative Team. You will be responsible for writing episodes and incorporating notes and feedback from the team. The ideal candidate is an experienced writer with solid expertise in Romantasy—whether in screenwriting, novels, web fiction, or audio formats.
Who We’re Looking For
You are highly motivated, able to work independently in a fast‑paced environment, and have a strong understanding of storytelling, narrative fiction, and web fiction. You can balance creative
vision with clear deadlines and bring strong organisational and communication skills.
Your Responsibilities
● Adapting licensed international content into long‑form audio formats (200+ hours), primarily in Romantasy and/or Dark Romance
● Writing episodes in line with the creative vision set by the Head Writer
● Co‑planning extensive story arcs (200+ hours) with the Head Writer and Creative Development Lead, and translating them into episodes
● Revising and refining episodes based on feedback to ensure consistently high writing quality
● Creating supporting materials for each series (concept documents, art briefs, marketing copy, etc.)
● Contributing to innovation projects, such as A/B testing storylines and character development
Qualifications
● Strong understanding of storytelling, narrative structure, and writing craft
● Proven experience in the Romantasy genre, ideally supported by writing samples or an online portfolio
● Bachelor’s degree in writing, literature, film, or a related field
● 3–5+ years of experience in long‑form creative writing and editing (e.g., narrative fiction, publishing, scriptwriting, line editing)
● Comfortable working within intensive editorial processes and tight deadlines
● Stylistically versatile and able to adapt to different tones and subgenres (epic fantasy, urban fantasy, romantasy, thriller, dark fantasy, crime, etc.)
● Excellent written and spoken English
Preferred candidates include writers with experience on platforms such as WebNovel, Wattpad, Royal Road, Radish, or similar web‑fiction formats, as well as authors deeply connected to anime, manga, light‑novel, webtoon, Chinese web‑novel, or BookTok communities.
Interview Process
The interview process will comprise of 3 rounds along with an assignment as follows-
