While this position is housed within People and Talent Operations, it functions primarily as a systems design and operational execution role where hiring is the domain of focus. You are not required to be a hiring domain expert. You are required to excel at architecting systems that produce measurable outcomes — systems that scale reliably, operate consistently, and remain effective under real-world constraints.

The challenge is straightforward to articulate and demanding to solve: architect and run a system that reliably attracts the right talent into the organization, within expected timelines, meeting rigorous quality standards, and placing them in positions where they thrive and remain. This system must perform not only for straightforward, well-scoped requests, but also for complex, high-stakes, non-standard scenarios. This role demands sustained ownership, sound judgment, and the rigor to resolve problems in ways that reinforce system integrity rather than introduce complication.

Stakeholder engagement is essential. You will interface with senior leadership who bring firm perspectives, conflicting demands, and incomplete information. You will operate without direct authority. Your success depends on establishing credibility, identifying alignment, and making trade-offs visible — upholding standards while ensuring stakeholders feel acknowledged and enabled.

This is an AI-native operating environment. You will engage with AI tools daily, leveraging them to draft content, prototype concepts, evaluate results, examine outliers, and identify trends. You will not delegate ideas to technical teams and wait for delivery. You will prototype, validate, troubleshoot, document, and refine directly, collaborating with others when scaling or hardening becomes necessary.

What You Will Be Doing

Architecting and refining end-to-end systems that transform unclear requirements into consistent, high-caliber results
Engaging directly with senior stakeholders to define true constraints, expose trade-offs, and establish shared definitions of success
Applying AI tools daily to create, validate, assess, and iterate on system elements, then exercising human judgment and quality oversight
Maintaining full ownership of your initiatives from conception through delivery, measurement, and ongoing refinement — no handoffs, no shared accountability
Detecting patterns, diagnosing underlying causes, and strengthening the system using outcome data and operational feedback

What You Won’t Be Doing

Identifying problems and transferring execution responsibility to others
Improving isolated system elements without accounting for cascading consequences
Depending on formal authority, organizational structure, or escalation pathways to advance work
Relying exclusively on specialists rather than engaging directly in execution
Sidestepping complex challenges, demanding stakeholders, or outcome ownership

VP Of Strategy And Operations Key Responsibilities Architect, own, and iteratively strengthen the systems that consistently deliver high-quality talent on schedule and into positions where they perform and remain.

Basic Requirements

5+ years in business operations, people or talent operations, program management, or comparable system-intensive roles
Demonstrated experience hiring for your own team or function, with measurable accountability for hiring performance (e.g., time-to-fill, candidate quality, retention outcomes)
Proven hands-on experience designing and deploying operational systems from end to end, not solely maintaining existing ones
Track record creating organizational and operational artifacts including role specifications, organizational charts, career ladders, RACIs, workflows, or decision-making frameworks
Strong written communicator: has authored SOPs, process documentation, or post-mortem analyses utilized by others
Functional knowledge of U.S. hiring practices and regulatory requirements, including compliance dimensions
Confidence engaging directly with senior leadership in the absence of formal authority
Practical, routine application of AI in operational contexts, with awareness of quality implications and trade-offs
Ability to maintain at least four hours of availability overlapping U.S. business hours each weekday

Nice-to-have Requirements

Experience iterating a system across multiple cycles informed by performance and retention analytics
Proficiency with low-code platforms, automation tools, or agentic workflow systems
Experience designing dashboards or data visualizations tailored for executive stakeholders
Background in high-growth, high-accountability, or private-equity-owned organizational contexts
