What You Will Be Doing

• Conducting personalized 1:1 coaching sessions where your athletic experience is translated into concrete, executable strategies for student development
• Directing high-impact morning assemblies designed to energize and engage the full student population
• Delivering interactive life skills workshops that actively guide students through exercises in resilience, leadership, and goal formulation
• Overseeing structured afternoon athletic training sessions that embody championship principles: creating drills, demanding effort, refining technique, and instilling grit and collaboration through sport (not merely supervising activities)
• Maintaining continuous engagement with all students: moving through the space during independent study periods, intervening with motivation when a student encounters obstacles, and seizing opportunities to create impactful learning moments that catalyze breakthroughs

What You Won’t Be Doing

• Observing from a distance as a symbolic presence: this role demands active floor involvement, direct student engagement, session facilitation, and immediate intervention.
• Delivering conventional academic instruction or adhering to set curricula: students utilize adaptive learning applications for academics. Your focus is life coaching, motivational support, and cultivating meta-skills through athletics and mentorship.

Basic Requirements Sports Mentor key responsibilities

• We're looking for former elite-level athletes with credentials at the highest echelon of competition — Olympians, World Champions, professional athletes from the NFL, NBA, MLB, MLS, or NHL, or NCAA Division I All-Americans
• Bachelor's degree in any discipline
• Demonstrated experience leveraging sport as a vehicle for mentoring and teaching life skills
• Established track record of motivational leadership in athletic, academic, or professional contexts
• Authorization to work legally in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship
• Prepared to reside in or relocate to Austin, TX

Working with us This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $75 USD/hour, which equates to $150,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
