What To Expect Tesla’s Cell Engineering team is looking for an Industrial Engineer eager to play a pivotal role in accelerating the global expansion of our 4680 cell manufacturing capacity. The individual will help industrialize our cell manufacturing lines, enabling fast and efficient deployment at scale by performing value-stream analysis using simulations. This will be achieved by validating design choices for new factories and optimizing the use of existing factories and assets.
This is a high-impact, fast-paced role for a data-driven innovator who thrives at the intersection of manufacturing execution, strategic planning, and cross-functional leadership. You will be an analytical asset behind our ability to scale cell production with precision, agility, and foresight, turning complex manufacturing data into clear, actionable strategies.
What You'll Do
Perform value-stream analysis through the use of simulations
Support and validate decision making on process and material flow layout with data
Deep dive into production assumptions (yield, line speed, equipment availability, cycle time) to identify risks, bottlenecks, and optimization opportunities, transforming raw data into strategic recommendations
Work with the internal teams designing production lines for the factory to ensure that their layouts align with the overall plan and vision for the factory and will perform to the required level
Analyze and optimize existing factory and asset running conditions
Proposing and quantifying benefits of layout changes for operating or futurue conceptual factories
What You'll Bring
Degree or Equivalent Experience in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineer, Manufacturing Engineering
2+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
Familiar with Discrete Event Simulation software like Flexsim, AnyLogic, Arena or Simio
Experience doing the detailed analysis necessary to make data driven decisions on process layout design, production line design or warehouse design
Exceptional analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize large, complex datasets into clear insights and persuasive recommendations for leadership
Able to gain buy-in from a diverse group of stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to thrive under pressure, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality results with tight deadlines and minimal handholding
Meticulous, organized, and disciplined in documentation, tracking, and process ownership
Experience with AutoCAD is preferred
Mastery of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
