Senior Software Technologist I

Job Description You are a part of The Business Unit IGT Systems, which is responsible for marketing, development, manufacturing, services and solutions in the area of cardiac and vascular medical diagnosis and intervention. Our customers are interventional specialists in the cardiology, vascular surgery, neurology and radiology domain operating in a wide variety of hospitals across the globe. You will join a high-performance and culturally diverse department in a dynamic environment. The department consists of 35-40 highly educated software engineers responsible for developing the robotic subsystems of our interventional X-ray systems.

Your Responsibilities Include

  • Design and implementation of software (on component or module level)—understand and communicate consequences of your design on the architecture and influence design specification.
  • Design software on the basis of design specifications in accordance, to ensure that the software will be reliable, efficient, user-friendly, easy to maintain and meet the (medical) quality and coding standards.
  • Implement class, unit integration and unit tests for the designed modules or components.
  • Contribute to the quality and maintainability of our software stack which has to be maintained for a long time (10+ years).
  • Perform work in-line with processes / quality system.
  • Contributing to the unit interfaces (SW), in close consultation with relevant disciplines.
  • Initiatives and active participation for continuous improvement and Agile / Safe / Scrum process.
  • As a Scrum Master, you will play a key role in driving Agile excellence within the hardware team. Your responsibilities include: Leading Agile practices as the Lean/Agile process authority for the Scrum team and its stakeholders.
  • Empowering the team to self-organize, solve problems, and continuously improve.
  • Coaching and supporting the team to achieve goals, remove impediments, and enhance collaboration.
  • Embedding the Hybrid Model standards and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing.
  • Facilitating Agile rituals and ensuring smooth execution of Agile processes.
  • Optimizing backlog management by maintaining high data quality and driving predictability in planning.
  • Monitoring team performance metrics and ensuring commitments align with PI Planning targets.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • At least a bachelor's degree in SW Engineering, Informatics, Computer Science or equivalent
  • Experience band of 10- 16 years in software design and development
  • Experience with all aspects of the software development lifecycle: Requirements, Design, implementation, test and integration
  • Experience with C#, WPF, .NET and windows, object-oriented programming and SOLID principles
  • Experience with software development methodologies such as agile (SAFE), scrum and the V-model
  • Design and implementation of software (on component or module level)—understand and communicate consequences of your design on the architecture and influence design specification;
  • Design software on the basis of design specifications in accordance, to ensure that the software will be reliable, efficient, user-friendly, easy to maintain and meet the (medical) quality and coding standards;
  • Implement class, unit integration and unit tests for the designed modules or components;
  • See the challenge in working with a very large codebase (new and legacy code) that will need new features added or embedded in existing code, updates, (bug)fixing, improvements.
  • Good communication in English (both written and verbal)
  • Personality skills to collaborate with colleagues from different teams/levels and think across functional borders
  • A lean/pragmatic attitude who can drive change and continuously seeks improvements and ways to reduce ‘waste’
  • Interest in the development of software in a controlled regulated environment
  • Experience in working in a healthcare product development environment is an advantage
