RF / HW Test Engineer (GNSS SoC)

mobile device prototypes and GNSS SoC platforms

🔬 Key Responsibilities & Impact
- Hardware Bring-Up & Validation
- Support new
hardware and board bring-ups
- Execute and debug
hardware validation tests
across prototypes and product form factors
- Identify and resolve HW-related issues, including schematic-level concerns
- Debug & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Isolate root causes for HW failures and coordinate closely with
RF, SW, and test/tools teams
- Read, understand, and validate
hardware schematics and PCB layouts
- Power & RF Measurements
- Perform
power measurement testing
on hardware boards
- Program and monitor
power rails
using schematic inspection and lab tools
- Conduct RF measurements including
P1dB, IIP, NF, and S-parameters
- Data Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze collected test data and prepare
clear, actionable reports
- Identify trends, issues, and risks early in the validation cycle
- Test Automation
- Develop and maintain
Python scripts
to automate test suites
- Improve test efficiency and reduce debug cycle time
- Quality & Compliance
- Follow all company policies and procedures to ensure
product quality, safety, and reliability
- Provide
on-call or evening support
as needed to meet critical milestones
🛠 Tools & Technical Expertise
- RF & lab equipment:
- Oscilloscopes
- Spectrum analyzers
- Signal generators
- Vector/network analyzers
- NI power instruments
- Strong familiarity with:
- RF receiver architectures and system blocks
- Hardware schematics and PCB layouts
- Python for test automation
🎓 Qualifications
- BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field
- 2+ years of laboratory experience
testing mobile devices or SoC platforms
- Hands-on experience in
RF and HW validation testing
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to support
on-call and extended-hour requests
when required
- Must be available
onsite in San Jose, CA (5 days/week)
