Our M&A offering within the I&CP team provides specialist corporate finance advice to institutional investors, power & utility companies as well as energy transition corporates. We are the trusted lead financial advisor in both sell-side and buy-side transactions across the UK. Benefiting from the wide Deloitte international network, we are also active in the cross-border transaction scene in the energy sector. In Deloitte, we provide multi-disciplinary services to our clients and you will have the opportunity to work with people who are passionate about energy transition across different teams including debt advisory, financial and tax due diligence, and strategy consulting etc.

Our Renewables Energy & Infrastructure team has an exciting opportunity for a Director level candidate to join as we continue to grow our business. The role will be focussed on M&A advisory services in relation to the energy, energy transition and related infrastructure sectors.

Your role within this high-performance and growing team will be to lead mandates for clients to achieve their strategic objectives through transformational M&A transactions. Responsibilities will include:

Lead the advice to our clients on a range of buy-side and sell-side transactions;
Lead the team with day-to-day responsibility for management of transactions which includes preparation of information memoranda, management presentations, valuation analysis and taking senior responsibility for the preparation of information and client communications;
Take responsibility for compliance related aspects of transactions, setting the tone for the highest professional standards in the deal teams;
Oversee industry research for both deal origination and transaction analysis;
Lead marketing and business development opportunities;
Oversee financial analysis, including complex analysis and financial models; and
Oversee and mentor a team of talented Assistant Directors, Managers and Assistant Managers and be instrumental in shaping the team’s inclusive culture by setting the right example as a senior team member.

Required technical skills and experience include:

M&A lead advisory with direct experience of leading transactions and providing trusted client advice;
Experience of working with institutional and infrastructure funds, as well as strategic corporates and platforms in the energy and energy transition sector;
Deal execution experience, dealing with senior client stakeholders;
Ability to lead client relationships and interactions;
Adept at managing senior internal and external stakeholders and leading complex mandates to successful completion;
Experience of leading and developing a team;
Experience of working under an FCA regulatory environment (desirable);
An excellent understanding of the financial and commercial aspects of energy, energy transition and wider infrastructure sector with strong sector relationships;
Experience of designing and building complex financial models;
Excellent written communication skills;
Education to degree level or equivalent; and
A recognised accountancy or relevant financial qualification.

Infrastructure and Real Estate

Our Infrastructure and Real Estate team supports both public and private sector clients on complex infrastructure, real estate, and capital projects. Typical engagements include urban regeneration, transport, energy and renewables, and occupier advisory to central government and large corporate companies.

We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints (e.g., in relation to any financial interests and employment relationships).
