At Unbound Academy, a tuition-free virtual charter school, students complete their academic work efficiently using AI-powered tools, then engage in live, interactive workshops that build life skills, teamwork, and self-assurance. Your responsibility is to ensure these sessions flow seamlessly and create a positive environment for every student.

You will serve as the operational backbone of the student experience. You'll facilitate smooth transitions, provide support to small groups, sustain high energy levels, and offer encouragement or guidance when students need it. Content instruction won't fall under your responsibilities—but your presence is essential to making the program work.

What You Will Be Doing

• Facilitating live virtual workshops by coordinating breakout rooms, managing transitions, maintaining pacing, and ensuring smooth group dynamics
• Promoting active participation using chat interactions, recognition, gentle prompts, and one-on-one student engagement
• Supporting students in staying focused, self-assured, and socially connected throughout their daily learning activities
• Providing operational support to lead educators to maintain seamless session delivery
• Serving as a reliable, approachable presence within student clubs and life-skills programming

What You Won’t Be Doing

• Delivering academic instruction or presenting subject-matter content
• Developing lesson plans, evaluating assignments, or conducting academic assessments
• Building curriculum or facilitating workshops without guidance
• Taking a passive or observational role—this position demands active involvement and high energy

Online Youth Mentor Key Responsibilities Facilitate dynamic virtual learning environments by keeping students engaged, well-organized, and motivated during every workshop session.

Basic Requirements

• Able to begin work immediately or by the end of July (either timing is acceptable).
• Minimum of 1 years of experience in mentoring, coaching, tutoring, or leading youth programs
• Educational history within U.S., Canadian, or U.K. school systems (K–16); schooling must have taken place in one of these countries
• Student-centered, energizing demeanor with excellent organizational awareness
• Open to working in a hybrid capacity in Arizona.

Working with us This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $20 USD/hour, which equates to $40,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
