You've dedicated years to becoming proficient in structured literacy. You can detect a student's error pattern and pinpoint the exact phonemic skill that needs attention. Yet you've watched the system squander that expertise: classrooms packed with 25 or more students, inflexible pacing calendars, standardized curricula that disregard what your assessments reveal. If you've ever felt "I could accelerate these students' progress significantly if I could just teach according to the data," this opportunity is for you.
Alpha School's 2-Hour Learning framework integrates AI-adaptive technology with skilled human teaching. Students work through academic content individually using personalized applications. There are no classroom lectures, no textbooks, no prescribed pacing calendars. Your position centers on the one area where human expertise cannot be replaced: intimate reading workshops where you create and implement structured literacy lessons customized to each student's phonics and decoding proficiency. You'll leverage real-time performance data generated by AI to prepare each session, modify instruction dynamically, and track outcomes through fluency gains, accuracy growth, and decoding progress.
In addition to reading workshops, you'll facilitate motivation sessions designed to sustain K-2 students' focus on their learning targets. You'll serve as their mentor, their advocate, the individual who knows their name, their passions, and precisely where they stand in their literacy development. The objective: 100% of students achieve their weekly targets, and 90%+ identify their Guide as someone they truly enjoy working with. This role emphasizes measurable impact over curriculum coverage—results you can observe and quantify each week. As Alpha opens additional campuses, the system you develop here will define reading instruction across the network.
If you're convinced that structured literacy achieves optimal results when personalized, informed by data, and taught by someone who authentically energizes a classroom of young learners, this role embodies that conviction. Apply today.
