Scope Of Position The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center’s mission is to improve health in Ohio and across the world through innovation in research, education, and patient care. The team provides patient care and supportive services directed towards achievement of positive patient care outcomes, maximizing the patient’s involvement in his/her own plan of care and reducing the length of hospitalization, The staff nurse plays a critical role in staff engagement , the patient experience, quality and safety, and cost effective care.
Position Summary The Staff Nurse is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and his/her family, and for directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. The Staff Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating and evaluating the nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model.
Minimum Qualifications For Hire: Degree in Nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or Accreditation
Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited nursing program required.
Current Ohio license or interim permit. 2 years experience in relevant care setting preferred.
On-going: Maintains current Ohio RN license. Meets mandatory educational and health requirements. Demonstrates
Computer Skills Required To Meet Job Functions. The Nationwide Children's NICU at The University Hospital Wexner Medical Center is a 51 bed, Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Our NICU team includes a variety of team members including nurses, PCAS, UCAs, milk techs, who work directly with an even larger multi-disciplinary team from Physicians, to NNPs, Case Managers, Nutrition, Pharmacy and Social Workers, specifically dedicated to our NICU population. As a Nationwide Children's NICU here at OSU, we are a part of the NCH Neonatal Network making us one of ten NICU throughout the city.
