Specialty Operations is accepting online applications for the position of Pipeliner/Pipeline Operator for Buras, Louisiana through March 21st, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. (Central Time).
This position is rotational 7/7.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Operate specific pipeline systems and/or facilities (i.e. monitoring pressures, temperatures and flow rates, and making appropriate operational changes).
Evaluate alarm conditions as they occur and determine the proper course of action to correct the alarm condition.
Responsible for performing Operator Routine Duties.
Gauge and sample tanks or witness and verify gauging performed by customers.
Monitor and coordinate commodity movements, commodity interfaces, gauging times and the launching and receiving of pigs and scrapers with system controllers and customer contacts at receipt and delivery points.
Make valve line-up and manifold changes.
Monitor sample pots, adjust sample rates, draw samples and perform laboratory tests on samples.
Perform stock transfers between tanks.
Calculate line-fills, displacements and other volumes.
Investigate and resolve over/short situations and balance system inventories.
Proficient in use of ticket management system.
Read and record custody meters or witness and verify readings taken by customers.
Prepare run tickets and associated paperwork to ensure accurate custody transfer of deliveries and receipts.
Maintain accurate custody transfer records and reports, including maintenance of appropriate security seals.
Schedule, coordinate and perform meter proving of custody transfer meters and control meters.
Maintain meter factor trend data and perform and/or coordinate measurement equipment calibrations.
Respond to inquiries regarding leaks, line locations and encroachments and take appropriate action to rectify.
PIC trained with loading and offloading Ship/Barge procedures is a plus.
Perform tank gauging and sampling on oil to check for quality.
May lead sub-teams at the Field Team level.
Develop and use metrics to analyze, improve and implement work process change.
May coordinate the inspection, performance and documentation of facilities compliance checks, and track compliance checklists.
May support compliance inspections and participate in agency inspections.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Valid driver's license with a history of safe driving practices.
3 years of experience in oil & gas facility operations or related
Demonstrated knowledge of safe work practices.
Physical ability to perform routine maintenance will be required. Regular bending, lifting to (50 Pounds) without assistance, crouching, pulling, and kneeling to check equipment and gauges and perform repairs.
Ability and willingness to work rotating on-call shifts to include weekends, holidays, and overtime.
Must have or be able to attain Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC)
Preferred Qualifications
Terminal Experience is preferred.
Process Tech Classes (PTEC)/Degree-Completed or in Progress
Industrial Classes/Degree-Completed or in Progress
Process/Industrial experience preferred.
Candidates must live in the 300 mile radius.
