About The Role
We are seeking a talented Frontend Software Engineer to join our Growth Engineering team at Postman. This role is pivotal in enhancing the onboarding and activation experience for both individual developers and teams. The primary focus will be on optimizing user flows, guiding users through key activation points, and delivering measurable improvements that contribute to business growth. You will work closely with engineering leadership, product managers, and designers to craft delightful, efficient, and impactful user experiences. Your work will directly influence how users perceive and engage with Postman, helping us connect 100 million developers globally. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and passionate about building interfaces that delight users and drive product adoption and expansion.
Qualifications
- At least 5+ years of experience in frontend and/or full-stack development, focusing on user experience design.
- Proven track record of delivering engaging and impactful user interfaces that enhance user satisfaction.
- Deep expertise in modern web technologies including JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Experience with JavaScript frameworks or libraries such as React or Next.js; familiarity with state management tools like MobX is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills and experience leveraging analytics tools and experimentation techniques to inform development decisions.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of collaborating effectively in a remote-first environment.
- Attention to detail and a strong sense of product ownership, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
- Customer-centric mindset, with the ability to incorporate user feedback into iterative improvements.
- Based in the San Francisco Bay Area or willing to work in a hybrid model.
Responsibilities
- Own and deliver improvements to the core user experience, focusing on onboarding, activation, and user engagement.
- Implement small, impactful changes through A/B testing and experimentation to optimize user flows.
- Develop and refine end-to-end workflows, especially around first-time user experiences such as sign-up and onboarding processes.
- Collaborate with users—primarily developers—to understand their workflows and pain points, translating insights into design and development solutions.
- Leverage analytics and experimentation tools to measure the impact of changes and iterate accordingly.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams across geographies, including US and India, to streamline collaboration and ensure cohesive product development.
- Continuously learn and expand your understanding of the product, contributing to deeper user experience improvements beyond onboarding.
- Lead by example in executing high-quality, timely deliveries that align with business goals and user needs.
