About This Role
Wells Fargo is seeking a Loan Agency Team Leader who will Supervise the day to day operations for an operational team. Under management guidance, supervises nonexempt staff to ensure effective delivery of services. Providing training, and coaching and implements processes to maximize efficiency of operations.
In This Role, You Will
Ensure the smooth day to day running of the Loan Administration department.
- Manage the daily workflow, ensuring it is evenly delegated & measured against team member experience. This includes the processing of all BAU lending activity, such as drawdowns, repayments, rollovers, fee collections etc.
- Responsible for verification on LIQ related bookings of all loan processing activities
- Ensure all lending activity is processed per loan agreement timings
- Collaborate with outsource partners, ensuring all tasks completed offshore are done in adherence to local requirements
- Act as main point of escalation for any issues relating to the loan servicing team
- Ensure that all tasks are processed to the highest standards in accordance with cut off times (Nostro payments, Treasury cut off times etc.).
- Ensure daily reviews of outstanding loan related reconciliation items are conducted and aged items are kept within accepted tolerances.
- Lead the pursuit and resolution of issues affecting the team and/or workflow.
Ensure that a robust Control environment exists with the team.
- Proactively review all known control gaps from an operational risk perspective ensuring that risks are documented, assessed, mitigated and reviewed frequently
- Lead the process with regard to the review, update and documentation of procedures.
- Adopt and encourage a pre-emptive attitude to the identification of potential control gaps.
Process improvements:
- Ensure there is a predefined process that identifies, assesses and recommends improvements in all aspects of loan administration processing.
- Lead the team to ensure that all staff are encouraged to participate within this process.
- Ensure that this is a continual process, whose progress is tracked.
Staff Management:
- Actively contribute to the quarterly reviews of individual cross training requirements.
- Contribute to the development of bespoke training plans for each team member and facilitate the ability to achieve same.
- Through frequent reviews of team member performance, identify, escalate and assist to manage underperformance issues.
- Assist London Loans Operations Manager in delivering on retention strategies for the group.
Relationships
- Own the relationship with lending Line of Business contacts ensuring the Loan Administration concerns are accurately represented.
- Promote a productive working relationship with our assurance partners.
- Foster a culture of cross team collaboration with London Operations.
- Ensure that all SLAs are up to date and conference calls occur as scheduled.
Communication
- Ensure Upstream and Downstream communication is regular, succinct and to the point.
Self-Development
- Set the tone for the team in terms of professionalism, quality and flexibility.
- Lead by example adapting an approachable manner at all times.
- Assist and mentor staff where required.
- Take responsibility for own career development. Actively pursue traditional learning methods that focus on the "managerial aspects" of the role
Required Qualifications:
- Experience in Commercial Loan Servicing, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, education
- Knowledge of Loan Agency Administration and documentation
- Knowledge of LoanIQ is an advantage
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Teamwork, organisational skills and ability to prioritise
- Strong commination skills
- Proactive and self-motivated, eye for detail.
- Proficient in the use of MS office including word and excel
