Maintenance Mechanic – JLL
What this job involves:
The Maintenance Mechanic plays a critical role in ensuring the operational excellence of JLL-managed facilities by supporting the inspection, maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. In this hands-on position, you will work both independently and alongside the site Manager to maintain assigned properties' interior and exterior areas, including walls, flooring, fixtures, roofing systems, and lighting. Your contributions directly impact client satisfaction and facility performance, making you an essential part of our operations team. What your day-to-day will look like:
Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and respond to repair work orders on facility mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other installed systems and equipment
Conduct assigned facility inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting on conditions that impact client occupancy and operations
Execute general interior maintenance tasks such as hanging pictures, installing keyboard trays, repairing office furniture systems, and fixing doors
Assist the operations team with building and equipment maintenance and repair as directed by management
Replace lighting fixtures and ballasts, clean HVAC coils, and change filters and belts to ensure optimal system performance
Update work order status in real time using CMMS systems and submit P-card receipts daily
Comply with all safety procedures, complete required safety trainings, conduct vehicle safety inspections, and escalate issues to customers and managers promptly
Required Qualifications:
High School diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
Minimum of 1-3 years of applicable working experience in general building repair and maintenance, basic plumbing, and basic electrical systems
Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members
Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication abilities
Valid licenses as required by the authority having jurisdiction
Ability to lift up to 80 lbs., work from heights, and climb ladders up to 30 feet while carrying a tool bag weighing approximately 20 lbs.
Capability to work in adverse conditions including extreme cold and extreme hot environments
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for work order tracking and documentation
Familiarity with completing Hazard Assessments and maintaining compliance with State, County, or City Ordinances, Codes, or Laws
Knowledge of safe storage, usage, and disposal procedures for hazardous materials
Defensive driving training or certification
Experience moving office furniture, machinery, equipment, and other materials in a commercial facility setting
Background in facility operations or property management environments
Basic troubleshooting skills for HVAC systems and building automation controls
