"FICO is seeking a Senior Director who thrives in providing leadership and accountability to the IT Operational Analytics space within a fast-paced cloud environment. This position will be heavily involved in working with architects to implement and deliver the future vision, while balancing that with maintenance and support of existing tooling and processes. What You’ll Contribute
• Collaborate with observability service management resources to manage and prioritise project backlog, while ensuring essential operational focus is maintained and protected.
• Work with architects to deliver and onboard a future observability vision (tooling, processes, design, etc.), such that it meets stakeholder requirements.
• Maintain and, where possible, assist in improvement of existing tooling, processes and designs to assist in meeting short term requirements, while aligning with a migration over the next several years.
• Collaborate with stakeholder teams to successfully integrate observability into all business processes and engineering (e.g. CI/CD pipelines) in a supportable and scalable manner.
• Assist in creating standards, policies, self-service automation, and general implementation of agreed designs.
• Mentor and guide team members on best practices in observability, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies in the observability space and ensure these are added to training regimes where applicable.
• Play a key role in incident management processes, utilizing observability tools to optimize troubleshooting capabilities.
• Ensure observability solutions comply with industry standards and security regulations, safeguarding data integrity and privacy.
What We’re Seeking
• Expert knowledge and experience in management of ITOA and/or observability teams, both engineering and operational.
• Proven leadership experience with the ability to deliver complex projects on time and within scope.
• Experience working with containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), and microservices architectures.
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
• Deep understanding of logging, monitoring, tracing, and alerting practices in large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience with real-time analytics platforms and handling streaming data.
• Experience in effective integrations between systems of record, systems of engagement and systems of intelligence to achieve business requirements (e.g., ML based event correlation and enrichment with business context).
• Experience with using technologies to drive scalability within ITOA (e.g. Anomaly detection, event clustering, incident classification, predictive analysis, automated resolution issue workflows, automated customer notifications, machine driven root cause analysis, etc.)
• Any experience or understanding of systems of intelligence and systems of engagement tooling (e.g., Grokstream, BigPanda, Moogsoft, etc) would be beneficial.
• Experience in tooling and management of in the wider ITOA domain would be beneficial (e.g. Service Now, OpsGenie, etc.)
• Advanced experience working in an AWS Environment. Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect are a plus.
• Understanding of security considerations in observability, including data encryption and access controls.
