Your Role And Responsibilities
The Project Manager/Scrum Master supports the delivery of technology projects by coordinating cross‑functional teams and contributing to successful outcomes in line with agreed scope, cost, schedule, and contractual requirements.
Working as part of a wider delivery team, the role focuses on day‑to‑day delivery management, stakeholder coordination, and application of Agile and project management practices across areas such as application development, modernization, cloud, cognitive/analytics, or other complex delivery initiatives.
Depending on experience, the role may involve owning discrete workstreams, supporting end‑to‑end delivery under senior leadership, or acting as a Scrum Master for Agile teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Support project planning, execution, and delivery in line with contractual and business requirements.
- Manage day‑to‑day delivery activities including scope, schedule, risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Coordinate with clients, technical teams, and stakeholders to ensure clarity, alignment, and progress.
- Apply Agile (Scrum/Kanban), Design Thinking, and traditional project management approaches as appropriate.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as stand‑ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives where required.
- Support oversight of technical or vendor teams to ensure quality delivery across the SDLC.
- Contribute to communication planning, reporting, and governance activities.
- Build effective working relationships with clients and team members and support issue resolution.
- Depending on experience, lead defined workstreams or support senior delivery leads with end‑to‑end project delivery.

Required Technical And Professional Expertise
- Experience supporting project delivery, planning, scheduling, or coordination activities
- Exposure to stakeholder and vendor management
- Working knowledge of Agile delivery (Scrum), Design Thinking, and/or traditional PM methods
- Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Awareness of cloud delivery environments (e.g. AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, GCP, OpenShift)
- Experience managing or tracking risks, issues, and dependencies
- Strong communication, facilitation, and collaboration skills
- Awareness of contractual and financial delivery considerations
- Ability to work across multiple teams or workstreams in a delivery environment
This role is subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). An additional range of Personal Security Controls referred to as National Security Vetting (NVS) may apply, this could include meeting the eligibility requirements for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
Preferred Technical And Professional Experience
- Experience working in a consulting, systems integration, or client‑facing delivery environment
- Exposure to Scrum Master responsibilities within Agile delivery teams
- Relevant certification or training (e.g. Scrum Master, AgilePM, PRINCE2 Foundation, SAFe)
- Experience supporting delivery in secure, regulated, or government environments
- Familiarity with DevOps ways of working and modern delivery tooling (e.g. Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps)
- Experience contributing to delivery reporting, RAID logs, or governance forums
- Understanding of cloud‑based or hybrid delivery models
- Interest in developing a long‑term career in delivery management or Agile leadership
