Director of Product Architecture, 2 Hour Learning (Remote)

We are seeking a highly technical product leader to drive the architectural evolution of our AI-powered learning ecosystem at 2 Hour Learning. This position requires the technical depth to function as a CTO, the strategic vision to enable transformational outcomes, and the commitment to deploy those capabilities toward unlocking student potential at scale.

This is not a conventional product management position centered on incremental releases or user feedback iteration. This is an executive-level technical product ownership role where you will define the architecture, technical strategy, and AI integration across our entire learning platform. What You Will Be Doing

• Building and maintaining deep expertise in education product strategy to inform critical decisions
• Creating technical specifications that address key architectural choices and emphasize simplicity, efficiency, and sustainable design
• Deploying generative AI capabilities to automate and optimize engineering workflows, in alignment with our strategic goal of minimizing manual effort

What You Won’t Be Doing

• Focusing solely on people management; this role depends heavily on your technical and business judgment
• Spending time in meetings, committees, or administrative overhead; we have streamlined management tasks so you can concentrate on delivering business impact through direct, hands-on work
• Creating high-level strategies without actionable implementation paths; your guidance must be grounded in product-level detail

Director Of Product Architecture Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the CTO for one or more education products, taking ownership of core technical capabilities and generating business value through flawless execution and strategic leadership

Basic Requirements

• Deep experience or interest in data-driven learning science
• 7+ years of experience making the important architecture and design decisions on software projects, such as the application of architecture design patterns or significant open source technologies
• 2+ years of experience making design decisions involving the use of cloud computing services (primarily AWS)
• 4+ years of experience in positions with full technical and delivery ownership on a revenue-generating product
• Experience building product features that make advanced use of Generative AI
• Experience using Generative AI to simplify work processes

Working with us This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $200 USD/hour, which equates to $400,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
