About The Position
The solution architect role involves designing and overseeing the implementation of home-grown and commercial-off-the-shelf IT solutions using Microsoft Azure and their integration with various systems and applications. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders, evaluating technology options, and guiding development teams to deliver scalable, secure and efficient solutions.

AVD – Solution Architect:
Role Overview
The AVD Solution Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing secure, scalable virtual desktop environments on Microsoft Azure. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders, assessing business requirements, and delivering end-to-end AVD solutions that enhance user experience and meet compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Strong knowledge and experience of developing Architectures to support Virtual workspaces for various business solutions and supporting a global user base.
Architect AVD environments including host pools, session hosts, FSLogix profiles, and supporting Azure services.
Conduct infrastructure assessments, plan migrations from on-premises VDI to AVD, and prepare cost estimates.
Deploy and configure AVD components, integrate with Azure AD, and enable security features like MFA and Conditional Access.
Apply best practices for RBAC, encryption, and network isolation; ensure compliance with organizational standards.
Implement autoscaling, troubleshoot performance issues, and optimize user experience.
Automate deployments using ARM templates, PowerShell, or Azure DevOps; integrate AVD with Microsoft 365 and Teams.
Configure Azure Monitor and Log Analytics for proactive monitoring; provide documentation and knowledge transfer.
Stay updated on AVD advancements and recommend improvements for cost, performance, and security.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong experience in designing and implementing Azure Virtual Desktop solutions.
Expertise in Infrastructure as a code using Ansible / Terraform
Expertise in Azure services (Networking, Storage, Identity, Security).
Hands-on experience with FSLogix, Nerdio, Nexthink and Numecent Cloud Paging.
PowerShell scripting, and automation using CI & CD pipelines
Knowledge of Microsoft 365 integration and Teams optimization.
Familiarity with security best practices and compliance frameworks.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Demonstrates the ability to effectively work in a team environment, can work across functions to verify requirements and align on business objectives.
Demonstrates influential leadership through ability in driving product design and architecture, and adherence to IT engineering standards and architecture maturity.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrates the ability to effectively work asynchronously across time zones.
Strong track record of keeping up to date with industry trends. Experience with the growth of others’ capabilities.
Business Acumen:
Demonstrated experience supporting complex AVD Environments and support global user base
Demonstrated ability to quickly gain knowledge in business domains, data, workflows and processes in which the Virtual solutions are being deployed
Preferred Qualifications
Must have Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in computer science engineering or information technology or Relevant field.
Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, supporting business requirements across the world. Accordingly, the work hours for employees will be aligned to support business requirements. The standard work week will be Monday to Friday. Working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm or 1.30pm to 10.30pm.
