The Consultant / Senior Consultant is at the core of our case team structure. Coming from diverse backgrounds and using their creative problem-solving and managerial skills, Consultants / Senior Consultants at L.E.K. guide our case teams to provide clients insights with impact. You will make a difference by helping to drive our teams to deliver actionable value and targeted opportunities to help our clients win.

Responsibilities Consultants / Senior Consultants at L.E.K. manage a team of Associates and/or Associate Consultants right from the start and are on point to ensure the team is addressing client problems and delivering an answer. While every case is different, Consultants’ / Senior Consultants’ primary responsibilities typically include:

• Breaking down and outlining the client’s key opportunities
• Designing and supervising the team’s core research tasks and analyses day-to-day
• Developing presentations and other deliverable structures
• Participating in the communication of project conclusions to client senior management
• Providing guidance, mentorship, and feedback to more junior staff

As part of the role, you may be asked to travel to client sites. These opportunities allow for deeper client engagement, broader exposure, and meaningful contributions to our work. We ask that you remain flexible in supporting these travel needs as part of your professional experience at L.E.K

• Early management responsibility: Consultants / Senior Consultants have the opportunity to manage the case process and Associate team (L.E.K. hires two undergraduates for every new Consultant).

Consultants / Senior Consultants typically work on ~6-10 projects a year, providing greater exposure across clients and strategic issues, as well as faster development of business acumen.

Qualifications & Experience

• An MBA from a renowned school with outstanding academic achievement or 3-5 years of full-time professional experience post-graduation in a relevant field
• Industry knowledge, especially around the nuances of Healthcare operations
• Experience in a range of the core value capture capabilities: Operational flow, Capacity optimization, Cost efficiency, procurement, revenue cycle, labor analysis, provider operations
• Superior analytical skills combined with demonstrated expertise in consulting approaches
• Proven ability to motivate and coach people in multiple dimensions including analytical skills, project management, client relationship management, and interpersonal skills
• Strong “bedside manner” with clients: able to engage at varying levels within a client’s organization, helping effect the research, strategic planning, and/or change required to realize the project objectives
• Strong project management skills including work planning, presentation development, quality control, and client management
• Excellent communication skills both oral and written and the ability to influence others
• Bright, conceptual and a quick learner, able to quickly assess a situation and generate new insights and actionable ideas

L.E.K. Consulting offers competitive salary and benefits package commensurate with experience. The base salary at the Consultant level is $185,000USD and at the Senior Consultant level is $200,000USD. The estimated total potential compensation at these levels ranges from $250,000USD (Consultant) to $290,000USD (Sr. Consultant).  The realization of performance bonuses and profit sharing are influenced by both individual and firm performance. Broader firm benefits include 401K, health/dental/vision insurance, paid vacation and holidays, sick leave and short and long term disability insurance.
