This is not a position centered on academic theory. It is a leadership responsibility. You will own the academic strategy in execution, establish clear benchmarks, surface gaps in delivery, and guide high-performing teams toward measurable outcomes. You will convert our scientific foundations into operational rigor and articulate the case for this model on a global stage.

What You Will Be Doing

• Designing academic frameworks that convert learning science into actionable guidance for curriculum development, motivational systems, and application architecture.
• Conducting academic execution reviews with Heads of Academics to confirm that school teams remain aligned, accountable, and producing results.
• Integrating data, interviews, and direct observation into academic ecosystem assessments that identify the most critical obstacles to accelerated learning and recommend concrete interventions.
• Ensuring strategic coherence through planning, feedback mechanisms, and milestone monitoring to sustain focus on student learning objectives.
• Serving as the principal representative of 2 Hour Learning at senior levels, including keynote presentations and engagements with Ministries of Education, to advance systemic transformation in global education thinking.

Director Of Educational Strategy Key Responsibilities Expand and strengthen 2 Hour Learning's validated academic model by aligning execution across schools, raising leadership standards, and establishing yourself as the public advocate of a movement founded on rigorous science and demonstrable results.

Basic Requirements

• Advanced degree (Masters or Ph.D) in Learning Science, Educational Psychology, Instructional Design, or a related field
• At least 7 years in academic or EdTech leadership roles, leading a team of staff/employees (not an informal peer leader role, such as grade-level lead); you must have been responsible for hiring, monitoring performance, coaching, and making termination decisions
• Experience driving learning outcomes for students and upholding student performance standards
• Experience applying AI or emerging technologies to improve education, such as through personalized learning, adaptive learning, AI agents, etc.
• Experience managing academic teams of 50+ people (e.g., the teams you managed directly executed curriculum, instruction, or assessment)
• Experience interacting directly with students, teachers, or school leaders in a professional setting

Working with us This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $200 USD/hour, which equates to $400,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
