Role Description:
As a Director of Engineering with Flipkart, you will be leading a team of managers, architects and engineers across levels and driving the technology vision for the team working on a spectrum of products and platforms that power the ecommerce Platform. You will be responsible for end to end ownership of software development, for scalability and quality of the solutions and for active grooming and mentoring of the team you lead. This is an important, high ownership and strategic role within the company, and our expectations are equally high.
On a day to day basis, you will be responsible for evangelising ideas, providing technical direction and building high quality and low latency platforms while building and leading a high performance engineering team. You will collaborate with product and business stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions to complex problems with speed, quality and agility.
You will also focus on building a strong team culture, fostering accountability and responsiveness, and provide mentorship and career development to the team.

— Peak Traffic: Managing peak loads estimated to exceed 500,000+ RPS during flagship events like BBD with low latency.
— High Availability: Maintaining 99.99% uptime across mission-critical services while managing over thousands concurrent offers .
