At Unbound Academy, a fully virtual, tuition-free charter school, students advance rapidly through academics using AI-powered tools, then engage in live, interactive workshops that emphasize life skills, teamwork, and self-confidence. Your responsibility is to ensure these sessions flow seamlessly and create positive experiences for students.

You will serve as the organizational backbone of the student experience. You'll facilitate smooth transitions, assist small groups, maintain high energy levels, and provide encouragement or clarity when students need it. Content instruction is not part of your role—yet your presence is essential to making the model work.

What You Will Be Doing

• Facilitating live virtual workshops by overseeing breakout rooms, transitions, timing, and group dynamics
• Promoting student participation using chat, recognition, gentle prompts, and one-on-one check-ins
• Ensuring students remain engaged, confident, and connected across the learning day
• Supporting lead educators with operational logistics that allow sessions to proceed without interruption
• Serving as a reliable, familiar presence within student clubs and life-skills programming

• Delivering academic instruction or teaching subject matter
• Developing lesson plans, evaluating student work, or conducting academic assessments
• Building curriculum or facilitating workshops on your own
• Remaining passive or disengaged—this role demands active involvement and high energy

Virtual Learning Assistant Key Responsibilities Facilitate engaging, virtual learning sessions by keeping students organized, motivated, and actively involved throughout each workshop experience.

Basic Requirements

• Available to begin immediately or at the end of July (one of the two).
• Minimum of 1 years of experience mentoring, coaching, tutoring, or working with youth
• Educational history within U.S., Canadian, or U.K. school systems (K–16); must have completed schooling in one of these countries
• Possesses a valid teaching certificate from any U.S. state, or an expired certificate that can be reinstated, with certification transferable to Arizona
• Excellent communication abilities and strong proficiency with digital tools and platforms
• Engaging, student-centered presence with keen attention to detail and seamless facilitation
• Open to working in a hybrid capacity in Arizona.

Working with us This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $20 USD/hour, which equates to $40,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
