Own the end-to-end business performance of the Grocery category, driving growth through the right mix of assortment, pricing, promotions, and vendor partnerships.
Manage category P&L with a strong focus on revenue, margins, and cost optimization.
Assortment Strategy & Benchmarking
Define and optimise product assortments for each city, conducting quarterly reviews to ensure relevance, efficiency, and productivity.
Drive competitive assortment benchmarking, identify assortment gaps, and implement actions to stay ahead of market needs.
Category & Market Expertise
Maintain deep understanding of grocery commodities, regional nuances, pricing dynamics, vendor ecosystems, local brands, and MOP for key categories.
Build and scale new categories and missing portfolios to expand division share.
Brand & Vendor Relationship Management
Engage closely with brands to drive monthly business plans, unlock growth opportunities, and strengthen long-term partnerships.
Ensure 100% vendor fill rate, warehouse availability, and front-end stock availability by collaborating with vendors for Delivery In Full & On Time (DIFOT).
Visi & Marketing Investments
Deliver visi (visibility) investment targets from existing vendors to enhance platform presence, improve share of voice, and accelerate penetration of regional brands.
Category Leadership & Merchant Mindset
Operate with an entrepreneurial mindset—constantly benchmark category performance, product depth, and pricing to maintain monthly leadership.
Champion long-term category building with strong consumer understanding and market foresight.
Desired Skills
Exp with 2-5 years of Grocery (or) Ecommerce/MT Retail experience (must)
Demonstrated ability to identify and solve ambiguous problems
Identifying customer needs and inventing new ways to meet those needs
Tenacity to develop ideas independently and thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment
Proven analytical thinking, project management skills, attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills are essential
Excellent verbal and written communication with interpersonal skills
Extreme attention to detail and willingness to roll up your sleeves.
