Job Description Summary Designs, programs, documents, tests, and fixes bugs involved in creating and maintaining applications and frameworks involved in a software release lifecycle resulting in a digital product. Impacts approaches, projects and programs in the functional area or affected business organization and ways of working. Impacts quality, efficiency and effectiveness of own team. Has significant input into priorities. Guided by professional practices and policies that are shaped by the role. The role has moderate autonomy, requiring high levels of operational judgment.

Job Description Roles and Responsibilities

Responsible for testing a product/products, developing test plans, test cases and automating test cases using the latest technologies. Understand how the product will be used by the customer and develop test cases based on the product usage. Understand the architecture of the product being developed and understand the dependencies between different components.
Typically a 1st line manager of professionals ,developing specialized knowledge in their discipline. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development, and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.
Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.
Provide cross‑functional project execution leadership, including managing the system test and reliability engineering lab, budgeting equipment inventory, and procurement.
Oversee stakeholder communication and progress reporting.
Ensure all deliverables meet quality expectations and stakeholder requirements.
Track project outcomes and customer satisfaction using established SLAs and metrics.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
15+ years of industry experience as an engineer or project leader in relevant fields.
5+ years of engineering leadership experience.
Experience in the design and development of software systems/products or medical systems/devices.
Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to work effectively as a leader and individual contributor in a global matrix environment.
Demonstrated ability to partner with technical and business leadership to implement product development across global teams.
Strong exposure to software development and product development intricacies in software‑based products.
Proven track record of meeting project goals while satisfying quality, performance, schedule, and budget CTQs.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional program aspects and resources.
Experience collaborating with global teams.
Strong customer focus — evaluates decisions with customer impact in mind, builds strong relationships, and helps shape customer initiatives.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills — clearly communicates, evaluates information effectively, anticipates obstacles, and develops actionable strategies and plans.
Quality‑Specific Goals
Foster an open quality culture that encourages issue discussion and decisions aligned with quality and compliance objectives.
Technical Expertise:
Strong Experience in BDD, TDD, Data driven and Hybrid automation frameworks (preferably cucumber & JBehave)
Strong Experience to programmatically test products; measure test coverage; develop best automation, profiling, and performance/load testing tools; and drive testability and diagnostic ability into the product.
knowledge of Ubuntu, Linux and Windows OS knowledge
Knowledge on network protocols
Experience in automation development using Selenium OR Squish and Core Java
Knowledge of bugs/defects life cycle.
Understanding of system design concepts and subsystem interactions and interfaces
Knowledge of HP ALM or equivalent product life cycle management tools
Knowledge on Docker/Kubernetes, REST Web Services, architecture across SaaS/PaaS/IaaS, and cloud deployment.
Desired Qualifications
Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent (defined as 12 years of progressive experience, including 8 years in software development or research project leadership).
Strong strategic planning and change‑management capabilities.
Deep technical/domain expertise in at least one functional technology area.
Demonstrated experience with global product releases across the full NPI lifecycle.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent understanding of engineering, program management, and business planning; experience with full product lifecycle management.
Self‑starter, energetic, results‑oriented, and capable of multi‑tasking.
Strong problem‑solving and results‑driven mindset.
Demonstrated LEAN skills.
Experience leveraging AI tools within engineering disciplines.
Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, etc., is a strong advantage.
