Senior Revenue Accountant

About The Role We’re looking for a Revenue Accountant to be responsible for timely and accurate revenue recognition. This role will work on all aspects of the revenue accounting process to ensure accurate and complete financial information. This includes, but is not limited to, sales contract review for revenue implications and executing month-end and year-end close activities. In addition, this position will require impeccable attention to detail and the ability to deliver results under deadlines. You will maintain best-in-class processes and controls to support the seamless execution of our revenue recognition activities. You’ll support the design of automated solutions to further scale and streamline revenue processes.

This is a full-time, hybrid position based out of our Bangalore office. Our hybrid work model offers a blend of remote flexibility and in-person collaboration, including two days in the office each week to connect and build as a team.

Additionally, you must be able to work US hours for the first 90 days and during month end close period.

What You’ll Do Revenue Recognition & Month-End Close

• Execute monthly accounting close activities and deliverables in NetSuite (i.e. journal entries, account reconciliations, analytics and reporting), in compliance with ASC 606
• Clearly and completely document all processes and procedures in line with control activities
• Perform ongoing contract review of closed deals and ensure appropriateness of revenue inputs for revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606
• Assist in tracking and assessing non-standard revenue contracts, as needed, for appropriateness of revenue recognition
• Support external audit requirements, as needed

Accounts Receivable

• Prepare sales order reconciliation to ensure completeness and accuracy of all orders between systems
• Prepare and maintain quarterly CECL analysis to account for expected credit losses for financial reporting
• Prepare and document A/R related adjustments, including write-offs, in accordance with established policies

Data Integrity & Reconciliations

• Identify process improvements and assist in automation efforts to drive efficiency initiatives within the quote to cash business cycle
• Prepare revenue-related system reconciliations, investigate variances, and ensure timely resolution
• Participate in testing for revenue system enhancements to ensure new features support compliance and data integrity.
• Participate in ad hoc projects, as needed.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Partnership

• Support cross-department efforts and build relationships with other teams, including accounting, FP&A, sales, deal desk, and legal
• Collaborate across teams to support and advance automation initiatives, system enhancements, and processes that drive scalability and efficiency in revenue accounting for new business offerings.

Skills We’re Looking For

• 5-7 years of combined experience in revenue and public accounting
• Strong working knowledge of ASC 606
• Experience working in high-growth, SaaS companies
• You can demonstrate advanced Excel skills and work with large datasets
• You are meticulous and well-organized. You strive for precision and thrive in an environment of changing processes, working with multiple data sources, and driving multiple tasks to completion
• You are passionate about process, continuous improvement, and leveraging technology
• You have strong verbal and written communication skills. Your approach is clear, thoughtful and service-oriented
• You are a self-starter with a strong sense of ownership over your work and that of the team
• You approach new learning experiences with confidence and curiosity
• You value working together and how you can contribute to the goals and success of the team and company. You have the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively with the team and across functions in a fast-paced environment
• Systems: ASC 606, Netsuite, Salesforce

• Systems: Netsuite ARM, BigQuery, Stripe, Looker,
• Experience working with usage/consumption based revenue recognition, term-based licenses, and professional services
• CPA License
