Families who choose Alpha already rely on trusted advisors in most areas of their lives. This is the relationship they haven't had yet.
You'll become the person they reach out to when something doesn't feel right, when they're working through uncertainty, or when they want to share a moment with someone who truly gets it. You'll develop familiarity with each family deep enough to sense what they need before they articulate it—and you'll possess the judgment and composure to respond with discretion, warmth, and ease. Over time, you won't simply represent their child's school. You'll become woven into how they navigate this stage of their family's journey.
That level of trust isn't built through systems. It emerges from presence—consistent, daily, and unhurried. You'll be there during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up, at evening gatherings that carry weight, and in the private conversations that never appear on a schedule. You'll cultivate a community families feel invested in protecting, where belonging feels natural and referrals arise because the experience justifies them.
Alpha operates differently than conventional schools. Students complete their core academics in two hours daily using AI-driven applications, then dedicate the remainder of their time to public speaking, critical thinking, and hands-on projects. No traditional lectures. No unnecessary assignments. Top 1% outcomes nationwide. The families who select it are investing in something they value—but conviction requires ongoing care.
You'll sustain that dialogue with every family, through every moment of hesitation, for the duration of their child's enrollment. If engaging with an unconventional educational model in conversations with discerning skeptics feels overwhelming, this position isn't the right match. If it sounds like the most compelling conversation you could be leading, continue reading.
What You Will Be Doing
- Take ownership of the relationship with every family enrolled—the evolving, deepening connection that ensures parents feel understood, not merely attended to
- Identify and address concerns before they surface as formal conversations, resolving them with discretion and interpersonal skill that preserves trust
- Maintain visible presence during key family touchpoints: morning drop-off (7–9am), afternoon pick-up (2–4pm), evening parent gatherings, and select weekend activities
- Create a campus community with authentic depth—rituals, events, and meaningful interactions that foster a sense of belonging worth defending
- Develop parent advocates naturally by delivering experiences of such consistent quality that referrals emerge organically
- Sustain the dialogue around Alpha's AI-powered approach with families managing screen time questions, skeptical relatives, and periodic uncertainty—not only during enrollment, but continuously throughout their campus tenure
- Recognize when a family isn't aligned with the community and manage that transition with the same care you apply to all interactions—safeguarding the community is integral to serving it
- Establish the systems and operational rhythms this position demands in a setting where the framework is still evolving
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Overseeing enrollment processes—that responsibility belongs to the Admissions Director; your role commences when families enroll and intensifies from that point
- Operating from behind a desk—your physical presence within the community defines the position
- Adhering to standard 9–5 schedules—early morning hours, late afternoons, and evening commitments are inherent to the role, not occasional additions
- Relying on administrative infrastructure, established protocols, or a complete team—you function with significant autonomy and create what's necessary
- Approaching family relationships as transactional accounts—this position values authentic connection over procedural adherence
Director Of Parent Advocacy Key Responsibilities
Serve as the central trusted relationship in every family's Alpha experience. Maintain their confidence during challenging moments, cultivate a community where belonging feels meaningful, and establish conditions under which satisfied families naturally become active advocates.
Basic Requirements
- Currently live within commuting range of one of these campus locations OR willing to relocate within 60 days (preference given to candidates with established local community ties): Scottsdale, AZ; Palo Alto, CA; Piedmont, CA; Lake Forest, CA; San Francisco, CA; Greenwich, CT; Bethesda, MD; New York City, NY; Austin, TX; Fort Worth, TX; Houston, TX; or Kirkland, WA
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
- 5+ years in a relationship-centered role serving high-net-worth or ultra-high-net-worth families—such as private school admissions, luxury hospitality, philanthropy, or any context where discretion, warmth, and interpersonal fluency were equally important as competence
- Proven capacity to maintain relationships through challenging situations with sophisticated families and preserve trust throughout
- Authentic presence and communication approach that quickly establishes credibility with affluent, high-expectation families—genuine rather than rehearsed
- Direct familiarity with independent, private, or non-traditional education—either professionally or as a parent—that provides legitimate credibility when families question the approach
- Sincere conviction in AI-powered education and the capacity to express that belief authentically across years of parent relationships, not limited to the enrollment phase
- Flexibility for variable hours: early mornings (7–9am), late afternoons (2–4pm), evening events 2–3x/month, and occasional weekend commitments
Nice-to-have Requirements
Exceptional candidates will possess at least one of the following:
- Established connections within the local affluent community that would provide immediate, organic credibility on campus
- Private school or independent school background with demonstrated success in family retention and community development—beyond enrollment metrics alone
- Track record managing high-stakes family dynamics where your judgment and discretion were the foundation of sustained trust
- Natural ability to design experiences—gatherings, moments, environments—that make people feel part of something worth protecting
- Prior startup or early-stage organizational experience where you built from the ground up and maintained composure through rapid change
