Job Description:
Contract Managers are responsible for contracting across the full lifecycle of the company's Global Data Center Portfolio, including development, design, engineering, construction, connectivity, operations, and maintenance. Core job functions include: contract deal formation, contract drafting, contract administration, policy governance, improving business process, and driving programmatic solutions to emerging industry, market and program shifts.
Responsibilities
- Support the overall contract management function, including deal-to-contract intake, contract drafting, deal negotiation, maintaining contracts playbooks, and improving processes and systems.
- Ensure that signed contracts are complete and clearly communicated to all relevant parties, including interpretation to support implementation.
- Examine existing policies and procedures to optimize the end-to-end process from creation of the quote to the completion of signatures with all parties concerned.
- Ensure all approved requests have been properly documented, escalated to the appropriate approval level, and resolved within the applicable Service Level Agreement.
- Partner with business leads to help navigate complex operations and Capital Improvement initiatives with significant spend and risk; drive cross-functional contracts risk and cost containment efforts
- Develop and continuously improve deal-to-contract strategies and procedures, ensuring compliance with internal policies and business controls
- Collaborate with cross-functional business leads to deliver on strategic initiatives, including: aligning new contract strategies to new project delivery strategies; responding to market conditions (i.e. supply chain risk, tariffs); and developing new or evolving existing contracting strategies (i.e. bonus incentive structures, risk transfer and apportionment)
- Collaborate with other Lead Contract Managers and cross-functional business leads to deliver on operational initiatives, including: budget planning and financial commitment monitoring, building contract templates and clause libraries, contract review processes and procedures, and risk and supplier relationship management efforts
- Act as a liaison between the business and Legal to drive for resolution of business and legal risk issues during contract formation, negotiation, and post-execution contract administration. Coordinate and drive resolution to key business issues with Legal, Risk Management, Corporate Contracts Governance, and Compliance teams
Minimum Qualifications
- 10+ years of relevant work experience in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, contract management and supply chain operations.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, with degree or graduate degree in Supply Chain Management, Accounting, Legal Studies (JD), Business Administration, English, Engineering, Construction Administration, or similar.
Preferred Qualifications
- Infrastructure portfolio management, construction industry experience, or familiarity with service categories related to Data Center project and program management, such as general consulting, engineering, research & development, quality, testing, inspection, building management systems, artwork, furniture, and facility operations & maintenance.
- Experience using contract management software or systems to prepare, process and record contract and purchase transactions.
- Experience interpreting and complying with corporate policies.
- Experience working in a highly cross-functional environment with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience leveraging AI to improve efficiency in daily workflows, including contract redlining, contract comparisons, contract abstracts, etc.
- Experience with GMP contract delivery methods
- Experience with process development and continuous improvement in contracts playbooks, deal-to-contract intake/pipelines, and other related procedures and tools
