Families who choose Alpha already rely on trusted advisors across every area of their lives. This is the relationship that has been missing.
You will be the first person they reach out to when doubt arises, when something doesn't feel quite right, or when they experience a moment they know you will appreciate. You'll develop the kind of familiarity with each family that allows you to sense their needs in advance—and you'll possess the judgment and composure to respond with care, discretion, and apparent ease. Over time, your role will extend beyond their child's education. You will become woven into the way they navigate this stage of family life.
That level of trust is not the result of methodology. It emerges from presence—steady, daily, and unhurried. You will be on hand during morning arrival and afternoon departure, at the evening gatherings that hold meaning, and in the informal exchanges that never appear on a schedule. You will shape a community that families guard closely, where inclusion feels natural and word-of-mouth referrals follow from earned excellence.
Alpha operates outside the boundaries of conventional schooling. Students complete their core curriculum in two hours each day through AI-driven platforms, then dedicate remaining time to public speaking, critical reasoning, and applied projects. No traditional lectures. No unnecessary assignments. Performance in the top 1% nationally. The families selecting this path are investing in something they value deeply—but that commitment requires ongoing care.
You will sustain that dialogue with each family, through every moment of uncertainty, for the entire duration of their enrollment. If the prospect of advocating for an unconventional approach to discerning skeptics feels daunting, this position is not the right match. If it represents the most compelling professional conversation available to you, continue reading.
What You Will Be Doing
- Take ownership of relationships with every enrolled family—the evolving, deepening connection that ensures parents feel genuinely understood, not simply attended to
- Identify concerns before they surface as explicit conversations, addressing them with the tact and interpersonal skill that preserves trust
- Maintain a visible presence where families gather: morning arrival (7–9am), afternoon departure (2–4pm), evening parent gatherings, and select weekend programming
- Develop a campus community with authentic character—rituals, events, and interactions that give families a sense of belonging to something valuable
- Foster parent champions through natural engagement, delivering experiences of such consistent quality that referrals arise organically
- Sustain the dialogue around Alpha's AI-enabled model with families managing concerns about screen exposure, skeptical relatives, and periodic uncertainty—not only at the point of enrollment, but continuously
- Recognize when a family is not aligned with the community and manage that situation with the same care applied elsewhere—preserving the community is integral to serving it
- Establish the structures and routines this position demands within an organization where standard operating procedures are still emerging
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Overseeing enrollment operations—that responsibility belongs to the Admissions Director; your engagement begins once families commit and intensifies thereafter
- Operating from an office—your physical presence within the community defines the role
- Adhering to conventional 9–5 schedules—early mornings, late afternoons, and evening programming are inherent to the position, not occasional
- Depending on established administrative infrastructure, standardized workflows, or complete staffing—you will function with considerable independence and create what is necessary
- Approaching family relationships as transactional accounts—this role rewards authentic human connection, not procedural adherence
Director Of Community Engagement Key Responsibilities
Serve as the trusted relationship anchor for every family's Alpha experience. Maintain their confidence through challenging periods, cultivate a community where belonging feels substantive, and establish the environment in which satisfied families become active advocates.
Basic Requirements
- Currently live within commuting range of one of these locations OR prepared to relocate within 60 days (priority given to candidates with established local community ties): Scottsdale, AZ; Palo Alto, CA; Piedmont, CA; Lake Forest, CA; San Francisco, CA; Greenwich, CT; Bethesda, MD; New York City, NY; Austin, TX; Fort Worth, TX; Houston, TX; or Kirkland, WA
- Authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship
- Minimum 5 years in a relationship-focused capacity serving high-net-worth or ultra-high-net-worth clientele—including private school admissions, luxury hospitality, philanthropic advising, or comparable settings where discretion, warmth, and interpersonal sophistication were as critical as technical competence
- Proven capacity to navigate challenging moments with sophisticated families while maintaining and strengthening trust
- Authentic presence and communication approach that rapidly establishes credibility with affluent, demanding families—genuine rather than rehearsed
- Direct familiarity with independent, private, or alternative education—through professional experience or parenthood—that provides legitimate credibility when families question the model
- Sincere conviction in AI-powered education and the capacity to sustain that belief authentically across years of family engagement, beyond initial enrollment discussions
- Flexibility for non-standard hours: early mornings (7–9am), late afternoons (2–4pm), evening programming 2–3 times monthly, and periodic weekend events
Nice-to-have Requirements
Outstanding candidates will possess at least one of the following:
- Established connections within the local affluent community that would provide immediate, organic credibility on campus
- Background in private or independent schools with demonstrated success in family retention and community building—beyond enrollment metrics alone
- Track record managing high-stakes family relationships where your discretion and judgment were the foundation of sustained trust
- Natural talent for designing experiences—gatherings, traditions, settings—that create a sense of belonging to something meaningful
- Prior startup or early-stage organizational experience where you built from the ground up and maintained composure amid rapid change
